Biography
Christopher Bates Parkerson is an associate in the Boston office of Campbell Campbell Edwards & Conroy. He graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, with a bachelor's degree in International Studies, focusing on the Chinese and Japanese political systems. During Christopher's time at Rhodes, he was a letterman on the varsity football team and was involved in various leadership positions on campus, receiving national recognition for his work in improving the educational and community emphasis of his fraternity. Christopher earned his law degree from the University of Arkansas where he was on the moot court team and served as a leader in the student bar association. He later received a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
After law school, Christopher joined his father's law firm in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He later joined the firm of Johnson, Liddon, Bear & Tuggle in Birmingham, Alabama, where he focused his practice on litigation and white-collar criminal defense. He was also an adjunct professor at Miles School of Law in Birmingham and a contributing author to the ADDENDUM. Christopher's employment with Johnson, Liddon, Bear and Tuggle enabled him to participate in many large-scale and high-profile cases, including the defense of Governor Jim Folsom and Governor Don Siegelman. After the death of David Cromwell Johnson, Christopher opened his own litigation practice. Christopher was a frequent commentator on radio and television in Birmingham.
He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of Arkansas, Alabama, and Massachusetts, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the First, Fourth, and Eleventh Circuits and the U.S. District Courts for the Central District of Illinois and Eastern District of Michigan.
Christopher is a graduate of the International Association of Defense Counsel's 2009 Trial Academy, held at Stanford Law School in California, and of the National Trial Academy, a premier trial practice seminar held at the National Judicial College in Reno, Nevada, and sponsored by the American Bar Association's Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He is also a member of the firm's social host liability team. As a presenter of the firm's "Be a Parent, Not a PalTM" and "It's ALL about YOU" programs, he volunteers his time to educate students, parents, teachers and members of the community about the Social Host Law in Massachusetts and to illustrate the legal consequences of allowing those under the age of 21
to possess alcoholic beverages.
